These are key initiatives focused on critical issues such as providing education, improving healthcare access,
supporting economic empowerment, and offering relief to vulnerable communities.
Kwetu Foundation over the years has worked with different partners on issues of HIV and AIDS. Our HIV and AIDS programs focus on youth friendly HIV prevention campaigns and messaging, HIV testing, ART referrals, and Young People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
It is evident that sexual and reproductive health and rights are closely linked with issues of power imbalance between men and women as well as access to quality services and women’s ability to make choices about their sexual health.
Social accountability on health service provision is one of the key gaps in Malawi. Kwetu Foundation will promote facilitation of community-based accountability mechanisms to ensure that women and girls are accessing good quality services in relation to women’s health.
Promoting Women’s participation involves empowerment as a process. It is based on supporting and enhancing women’s participation in processes and decisions that affect their lives.
Kwetu Foundation notes that gender equality and women’s economic empowerment is a major issue in Malawi. Kwetu Foundation will among other things promote entrepreneurship and access to markets among women.
Kwetu Foundation acknowledges that prevention of violence against women and girls is key in empowering women.
